Macaroni & Cheese

I'll be the last person to say that Mac n cheese from a box isn't good. 

But there's just something about homemade Mac n Cheese that I can't put my finger on. 

Perhaps it's just very nostalgic for me. 

My mother would NEVER ever buy Macaroni and cheese. And for good reason. Her recipe is sooo good. Over the years I've added to it and made it my own. 


1 Bag elbow macaroni

2 c. Milk

1/2 c. Heavy cream

1 small package American Cheese

1 c. Sharp cheddar cheese

1 Tbsp. Flour

50 gr. Butter

Crushed up cornflakes

Salt & Pepper

Preheat the oven to 180/350 degrees.

Cook your noodles as the package says and strain. 

Add butter to the pot and start to melt. Add in the flour and whisk together. Add in milk and heavy cream and mix together well so the clumps of flour melt down.

Mix in your cheeses.

You should now have a thick cheese sauce. If it's too thick add in some more milk. Season your sauce with salt and pepper to taste. 

Add in your pasta and coat it well. 

Pour your mac and cheese into a buttered dish and add the breadcrumbs on top.

Bake for 15-20 minutes.
